Edge Computing
Edge computing is an example of node computing systems where the processing is mostly done at location itself partially or completely. it pushes data and application closer to the users.it is mostly a distributed computing system. in the context of IOT, most of the data come from various sensors and the edge system or computer reduce the bandwidth required to process and communicate data to the centralised server.as per VMware notion the computing may devide into 4 parts in IOT domain.

Cloud : cloud are massive infrastructure of computing system which mostly by large Computing or say IT firm like Amazon AWS,Google's Cloud, and microsoft Azure are largest there are other various companies who are working cloud infrastructure ,most of them are web & VPS hosting providers . The cloud may be said as a massive computing power with nearly infinite resources. They are scalable as per reuirementes . The only area of concern in these clouds are centralized fashion of processing and the sensor data to cloud need too much to travel for information gathering and processing . There is also a concern over the network traffic load ,latency of network and security concern of sensor data to cloud without any edge device.
Computing Edge : these are the system nearer to sensors and between the sensor and cloud they small processing system which are mostly used to receive data from sensor edge and process them in accurate fashion to send on main cloud for visualization and controlling or processing . These computing edge not very much look like data centers but they have enough capabilities to process the node data and add some encryption to them so the security issue may cattered efficiently and time . The Computing edge may also be responsible for network traffic route selection so that the minimum latency may be achieved .The mobile sensor usability may fail if the latency of the network is hight. For computing edge is the power requirement and redundancy of power is very vital. A small failure in power to computing edge may collapse whole ioT sensor network connected to them and may trigger false alarms in case of telemedicine and industrial ioT.
Device edge : device edge are edge computing devices with very minimal processing power they are the nearest device from the sensors . They are built to provide a robust connectivity to the sensor which connected through cable or may be wireless sensors .
These type of computing edge or device edge adjacent to sensors are build to handle hazards environment so that they mail not fail the due to extremely temperature or high vibration in Industrial or vehicular network are installed in.
The latency of network and other power issue may not cause very problem to them except the temperature and humid environment factors . A device nearest computing edge examples is Raspberry's Pi a credit card size micro computer or say SBC (Single Board Computer).
Sensor: sensors in the IOT domain are some device that may collect some information regarding to there ability or controller some device which may a actuator. You can say that the sensors do not contain any computing power as so beside the ability to communicate in wired or wireless fashion . Sensors are most important device in the iit network they collect the information and send to all processing device from edge device to cloud so the reliability and performance in any environment constraint is very much a vital virtue of sensors . When we look around us in consumer electronics now every single device is becoming a iOT device now days and the numbers are growing very rapidly. The sensors around us are smart bulbs. Smart Elwctrical Sockets, Smart meters ,Smart Locks ,Smart TVs which may have a cloud infrastructure to record and play programms . These all smart device have one thing in common and that is there ability to communicate and take decision as per the predictions algorithm and control the device machine learning and Artificial intelligence is also started to incorporate in iit sensors so the waste data data may be avoided to better the system and network usability.
These all part when connected though a network in proper fashion make the the more connected than ever you may think of a world where all device can tal to each other and do the best decisions for human kind and to make the earth more greener by reducing the waste of electricity and feuls due to manual operation and man made errors.
